Arts & Culture in Liverpool
Liverpool has many museums to visit celebrating Liverpool's maritime and historical past as well as worldwide exhibitions. All are free to enter and are within a short walk of the apartments so are well worth a visit. Art lovers shouldn't miss the Walker Art Gallery, and Tate Liverpool.
Musical Liverpool
If music's more your scene, Liverpool has much to offer. Take a Beatles tour visiting The Beatles Story, the Cavern Club, and if you're lucky enough to visit in August, share in the events during the Matthew Street Festival. There is also the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and Liverpool Arena offering a wide range of musical events as well as numerous venues around the city.
Maritime Liverpool
Trace the thread of maritime history through Liverpool, starting at the Merseyside Maritime Museum. Experience a Magical History Tour 20th July 2007 to 30th November 2008. From the museum, head down to the Pier Head and Three Graces, before taking a Mersey Ferry across the river, where you can visit Spaceport at the Seacombe terminal.
Shopping and Nightlife in Liverpool
Take a wander through central Liverpool and you'll be amazed at the range of shops on offer - many boutiques only being found here or London within the UK. The recently opened Liverpool One shopping area claims to be a Shoppers Paradise and the is also the Met Quarter for Designer stores, Cavern Walks, Clayton Square as well as the traditional City Centre shopping areas - all you need is your wallet!
As you'd expect, Liverpool offers a spectrum of things to do in the evening and our Welcome Pack gives you a wealth of information about local restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs. All of our apartments are within a short walk of some excellent places to go.
Sport in Liverpool
Liverpool remains a big sporting city. Red or blue, you can tour both of Liverpool's football stadiums at Liverpool or Everton. The world famous Grand National is run every year in April, and in July we see the start of the Clipper Round the World race. Royal Birkdale plays host to the Open Golf Championships this year, while racing returns to Aintree, Haydock and Chester throughout the year.
Out and About
Escape the city with a visit to Southport, a beautiful Victorian seaside town and only 20 minutes away. Or take a trip to Knowsley Safari Park to see the animals from the comfort of your car! Close by, both Croxteth Hall and Country Park, and Speke Hall boast stunning architecture and lovingly tended gardens, while the windswept beauty of Wirral Country Park is a wonderful public space overlooking the River Dee.
