Dave arrived at his hotel in Liverpool on Sunday afternoon. His room was clean and comfortable and had the usual hospitality tray for a cup of tea or coffee.
At the same time John arrived at his Merchant Quarters apartment. He was greeted by Jim, shown around his spacious and contemporary 2 bedroom apartment, told a little about the area and left to relax in the living room.
Both Dave and John have a very busy week, often not finishing work until late and dining out most evenings. Thursday evening is no exception. Dave arrives back after an exhausting day and is aware he must write up his report before going to bed. As Dave enters his hotel room he realises that it is about 7 hours since he last ate and he's now very hungry. The last thing he feels like doing is going to yet another restaurant and having to smile and be polite to the staff. It will be a least another hour before he gets started on his report.
At 22:30 Dave returns to his room and sits on the bed with his laptop balanced on his knee and various spread sheets, statistics and reports scattered around the bed. Finally, at midnight, and now with an aching back, Dave goes to bed.
John returns to is apartment at about the same time as Dave. He uncorks a bottle of red wine. Leaving it to breathe, he takes a quick shower and, feeling refreshed he opens the fridge and selects some of his favourite ingredients from the shopping he had delivered 2 days earlier. He’s feeling glad he was not eating out again tonight - He is not sure his waistline could take it! Having whipped up a quick treat in the kitchen, John turns on the news and catches up with the days events. He then sits at the table and completes his report quickly using the additional information he needed from the Company website. After a further relax on the settee, John goes to bed looking forward to returning home the following day.
Dave felt exhausted after his business trip and hoped it would be a while before the next one. On the other hand, John felt things had gone really well and felt quite relaxed.
